Danielle Gustafson-Sundell About



Danielle Gustafson–Sundell lives and works in Chicago, IL. Recent shows include it's midnight and i'm lonely, an installation with sound by Victor Thompson and if that's all i needed i'd be fine, a group show curated by the artist to coincide with and to complement it's midnight and i'm lonely at Kavi Gupta Gallery, Chicago. A revised version of it's midnight and i'm lonely also opened in Leipzig, Germany.

Her work was recently included in group shows entitled Can Bigfoot Get You a Beer?, in Chicago, and Hard Rain, in Berlin. Other group shows have included Stuff, at TBA Gallery in Chicago, IL, Sad Songs, at University Galleries in Normal, IL, Hanging by a Thread, at The Moore Space in Miami, FL and Citadel 1 Front Room/Killing Room, at David Risley Gallery in London.

Previous solo or two–person exhibitions include:

From 2000 to 2003, she helped run deluxe projects, a gallery in Chicago, with artists Carrie Gundersdorf, Adam Scott, and Andy Moore. After closing the gallery space, deluxe projects produced curated posters, inviting visual artists, writers, and critics to participate.

Danielle's work is included in the permanent collection of The New Museum of Contemporary Art. Her work is also included in the catalogs for Sad Songs, Hanging by a Thread, and Stuff.

She has taught at The School of the Art Institute, the University of Illinois, Chicago, and at Northwestern University.
